Hi H.

I used a Rothenburger 44mm hole saw driven by a 1/4 drive socket and a 600mm extension in my cordless drill.

First job was to centre punch the disc to stop the drill wandering and then its just steady away. Its stainless and quite thick which resulted in wearing out 2 hole cutters even lubricating them with Rocol tapping grease. It took about 15 minutes per pipe.

Using the 44mm cutter also leaves a small shoulder so if you ever wanted to revert back to standard another disc could be inserted and fixed to it.

Personally I won't bother as I like it as it is.

Hi Austrian & R1NGA,

last question before going to the Harley Shop and buy some 'black' Bandage to do wrapping up my exhausts...
Does any of you remarked that the Engine get hotter having the exhausts bandaged?...read that in a review somewhere read

Cheers,
Georges

It's winter here but I did some short trips. So far no difference noticed. I do not expect any troubles.
Morgan does not expect problems in Australia either, otherwise they would not have wrapped the homologation car with heat bandage. (See the pictures in the parallel Australia thread)

Good luck! Put the strips in water before the wrapping. It's easier than do work with dry material.

Besten Dank Austrian,
I will follow your advice by putting the wraps into water before applying them that makes sense...but starting the engine after to dry the whole thing thumbs.
I will drive to the local Harley dealer to pick them up on satursday...I also intend to look after a nice HD aircleaner, I admit beeing a little jalous having seen the one Atalante put on his Super Dry M3W.
That is typical for the winter season!...if I can not drive my M3W, it is always good to pimp and tune it for the next season...and counting days smirk2

Cheers,
Georges

Job done!
The black wraps came in a 50 feet roll from my local Harley Dealer. Needed plus/minus 7 meters per side. Gloves where a must!...followed Austrians advice to wet them up before wrapping them. thumbs
I did a half an hour ride afterwards to dry and test ride with the first 15 minutes
in spectacular fumes grin2 having all the pedestrians looking at me crazy3
...That was my morgasm for today joy

...and by the way, my concerns about the plus heat in the engine, the Mecan at the Harley shop told me that it is really negligable, the ones he did never came back with engine heat problems due to Exhaust wrappings oldgit

My wrapping worked fine. I copied it from the 1000th car from the factory but went darker. I also sprayed with a sealant.
