You are right Nick...the S3 was briefly introduced before the 3.7 was introduced. I think it is a version of the Escape.

I has the following from MMC....

We can sort out the starting issue, however the rev hang up is a trait of the Ford ECU but we are working on a solution as we speak.

So, yes, they are working on it....no idea when a fix will be available though. As for my starting issue, turns out is was a cracked fuel pick up...all sorted now and she starts on a single crank!

Every 3.7 has this issue - surprised more owners are not up in arms about it as it spoils a good car.

Agreed - I couldn't believe how bad it was when I drove a demo car last year. Made changing gear very slow and car felt extremely silly!

Not agreed, mine does not have this issue. No rev hanging here so far during the first 5000km. knock on wood.

When was this comment made by the factory? I understood that MMC had investigated at least two alternative remaps but concluded that none where acceptable - something related to emissions.

The comment was made in December, my dealer is chasing them for progress. I'll let you know when I get anything concrete to pass on.

Soooo.... They have spoken....
The inherent driving characteristic of the Morgan Roadster 3.7, is the same as the Ford Mustang 3.7 and we have no control over ECU maps or settings that are supplied by Ford Motor Company / Revolve while doing the initial testing drive ability and emissions calibration.
All Roadsters are calibrated to exactly the same standard which was defined by Ford/Revolve whilst the vehicle was tested to the legislative requirements during the EU5 calibration.

They do propose a solution though, 'tis an "Upgrade" using the ARV6 ECU and changing the dual mass flywheel to a lightened standard flywheel.

The upside is more horses (up to 320 from 285) and better driveability/throttle response.
The downside is it's not cheap c£4k

That's good news, I just want the car to drive right!

I have just booked in, they do an ecu upgade / loom and sensor which takes power up to 300 bhp for c£1800+vat which will improve the driving experience.
