Has anyone fitted one which isn't standard? Would be interested to see some examples.

The new Speedster has a slightly unusual one with Flappy Paddles, not certain this is retro-fittable you would need to ask the factory.

SukhathaiC had his Aero Coupe converted to a Motolita and I was very jealous of it at Waddesden. http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php...praw#Post120790

It might also depend on which Aero Series you have ? I am not certain but I think S1 had a different wheel from later 2-4-Max-Coupe etc ? Not certain if the mounts and engineering/electrics were different ?

Thanks for the response - flappy paddles are of interest. I currently have a SuperSports.

I am pretty sure I have seen a pic of an Aero car with the BMW Z8 steering wheel on it. Obviously I haven't saved the pic.
Have I dreamed of it?

This is the Airbag equiped Steering Wheel on my Aero Plus 8 Auto.

I've no idea where it came from, but is a lot better looking than the one on the earlier Plus 8s.

The flappy paddles are metal, covered in non slip rubber. Interestingly they only function when the transmission is in "Sport" Mode. The fit of the paddles is very neat: I was told by two people at MMC that the car was used to develop the flappy paddle shift introduced with the Speedster and may not be 100% representative of subsequent Plus 8s.

The Z8 wheel is really attractive: I'm told by swmbo that it looks like the wheel on a 1950s Sunbeam....!

Z8 Steering Wheel

I was going to talk to BMW to see if it would fit, but looking at the prices in the USA I think not: UK prices would be 20% higher...the VAT.

New Aero/Plus 8 steering wheel. I personally do not like it at all. Looks even cheaper -if possible- than the old one (that was already ugly)

BMW Z8 steering wheel price: it will be around 1.5k eur (steering wheel + airbag unit)
1. http://www.leebmann24.de/lenkrad-leder-airbag-schwarz-z8-32346751000.html (665 eur)
2. http://www.original-teile-shop.de/a/bmw/32346_/32346755999-prallplatte_%28bmw%29.htm (if you check the price at the end of the process is 800 eur)

I am pretty sure last week my friend google has shown me a pic of an Aero with a BMW Z8 steering wheel. Cannot find it anymore.

Hmm, if I could do it for that sort of price it would be a no brainer...Time to talk to the guys at BMW in Salisbury.

Will they know what steering column is fitted?

This was my point. I was curious to see again the picture I was convinced I saw to find a way to get in touch with the owner and ask for some more info.

No, probably not.
I'll talk to Williams first. If they don't know they can find out!
Hope it isn't still JLR.....
