Had drilled ones on my old 4/4, put them on myself but was very worried about my drilling skills too, so for the Plus 4 opted for the stick on type

Oh yes there is. The Union Flag can be flown upside down. It signifies that the flier is in distress. Maybe it not so obvious on this badge but you can make out the dominance of the Saltire Cross in the top left quadrant. Look again at the badge, it doesn't matter which way up you put it, the Saltire Cross dominance is always the top left quadrant (with the pole assumed to be on the left). The only way you could make the dominance the other way up is to stick the badge face down, just as to fly a flag upside down you'd have to turn it over. ~iw

The factory have fitted Union Flags as per my order. Odd thing is, the "white" background of the flag is chrome whereas the website has the traditional ones. Not sure if I like them as they look a bit dull, I assume they were all that was left in the parts box! You're lucky they're the same each side! That's a good point, I've not taken delivery yet and only have a picture of one side, maybe there is a Welsh flag on the other side (in chrome) ! You'd have a " half decent car" then!

Hi, All my cars have the cross of St George on them Im proud to be English! The union flag used to mean a lot to me until everybody seemed to want not to be part of our union.

Therefore that badge has been incorrectly designed.

I fitted my bonet badges with three m spongy double sided tape and glued the ground down stainless steel screws onto the badge sides,it looks as if its screwed to the bonnet. My thought was might deter somebody trying to praize the stick on ones off so to speak (Looks good).

@Andy... No, it hasn't: Ian's right. Rotating a Union flag 180 degrees about the centre of the face (so that the fly edge is on the hoist side, but without flipping the flag over) makes no difference to the design. It is symmetrical on the diagonals. Where it is not symmetrical is between the upper and lower quadrants of the same edge, so that if you fly it upside down (i.e. rotate it about a horizontal axis) the dominance of the saltire will be wrong.
Take a close look at the flag. The broad white diagonal is uppermost in the two hoist (left-hand-side) quadrants, but on the underneath on both the fly (right-hand) quadrants.
