The wire wheel axles are dimensionally the same for all models - if you measure from the outer edge of the centre caps - my narrow bodied 4/4 and Roadster measure exactly the same.
As Peter said above, the difference is in the wheel offset. The 4/4 wheels have a protruding centre cap, the Plus 4 has the centre cap roughly in line with the rim edge, and the Roadster centre caps are recessed inside the rim.
The alloy wheel axle doesn't have the splined hub bolted on, so assuming its the same width drum to drum, alloy wheels will fit slightly closer to the drum, so a narrower track than wires. This is why the 3.7 Roadster with alloys is the same width as a Plus 4.

Beltempo: picture must have been taken in June 2012, when i picked up my first Roadster 3,7 - but just 30 mins ago i had a talk to my very experienced local dealer´s head of workshop who confirmed the 3,07 ratio + limited slip differential ( a pity we´re not using the mind-widening abbreviation "LSD" in this thread any more - did make things a lot... "lighter"...  ). But i remember dead sure that i saw the "3,07 LSD" - stickers on the piles of rear diffs for Roadsters on every visit to the factory i made since then (and that have been some...  )

thanks for your help. I'm really curious how that issue will be solved.... I first thought, the 3.07:1 would belong to the 3.0 liter Roadster. Your dealer is in Hamburg?
