My tongue was firmly in my cheek.... But I do like Grahams idea, but lets go further, twin twin air engines, one front, one rear, like the twin engine Mini Moke... Mini Moke Perhaps not!

You allowed different engine mounts and torque tubes for block, gearbox and diff. So if positioned correctly it will be fine. A 2L turbo would work very well if set up correctly and heat management sorted
