Paul my guess is that it will be the well proven aero chassis with cosmetic body/trim/hood? re-styling.
Same here. I was expecting something else. The shape is somewhat...odd. I guess is just a matter of wait and see.

Does anyone know if the new Aero8 will be homologated for the USA? That seems to me to be the crucial question.
Incidentally, there seems to be some enthusiasm here for the Ferrari 575 Superamerica...from people who have never driven one, I expect.
If this enthusiasm is based merely on the styling, well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I find the standard models - 550-575-599 etc - more handsome by a long way. And I can tell you that the standard 575 was much better to drive than the far more expensive Superamerica version, especially over bumpy surfaces.

You're right I've never driven one (575 Super America) and yes my admiration is styling. When they were new I could never have afforded one. The 550 Maranello being one of my all time favourite cars (to look at). Now I can afford one (or rather it's successor, the F12 Berlinetta) I wouldn't entertain it. I don't fancy the running, service and maintenance costs. I'd rather have a new Aero 8

Basically what that means is that, like me, you could buy one but that the cost of ownership would use too much of your hard earned resources and be more than you can afford, or would want to afford.
I think that means I can't really afford it. I have better things to do with my cash.

I think that means I can't really afford it. I have better things to do with my cash. Well put Peter. Beautiful cars though. I'd just be worrying about it sat in the garage all the time as the next service drew ever closer!!!

I think if you read my original post about the 575 super america I pointed out the trick roof mechanism as a good solution to the hard top roof dilemma.
For styling and drive I prefer a 456 personally..

The hardest thing to achieve as a grown up, is recognising what not to afford for the reasons given above.

The hardest thing to achieve as a grown up, is recognising what not to afford for the reasons given above. So true. Especially where cars are concerned...tends to reduce me to a little boy playing top trumps again!!!
