As an aside, did anyone see on the final page of MOG magazine, the bespoke dashboard designs that the factory are working on? Looks interesting!

That may be due to the fact that numbers made are in favour of the trad. So at any turn out you will get a similar ratio. Without wishing to open a can of Mogworms I suspect that MMC will be forced to move away from trad as we know in the not too distant future. Regulations are due to become even tighter, and I doubt low volume production will be allowed to slip under the safety barrier much longer, not just for occupants but also pedestrians. So I think change will come whether anyone likes it or not. A difficult time for all small production motor companies.

MOG is NOT MMC by the way!

My thoughts exactly.

Geneva 2014 was all about the revised Classic models; in fact, we haven't seen any development of the Aero since the introduction of the coupe. soapbox

But those of us who need 'a good reason' to order a new trad might like to see a factory engine option between 155bhp and 270bhp. There's a gap in the range right there.

The Plus 4 GDI revision was an engine/dash change with the option of a narrow body. All good stuff, but not compelling if you already have something close to that already.

How about a supercharged 4/4 narrow body with 200bhp...?
I understand from Henry it will be available later this year.

Back on topic.

My Prediction:

It is built on a revised Aero tub, with looks that tie it firmly into the Aero family at the front, but is a convertable with a radically different look from the bonnet aft.

Could it have a folding hard top?
Will it have a boot?

The engine? No facts or rumours to support any selection, but something I was told when I was thinking of buying the Plus 8 makes me think it may well be a BMW V8!

Why? Because my informant told me that when MMC contracted to take 500 engines BMW agreed to supply engines that would meet type approval until MMC had used up the 500. So either BMW has to homologate the M62 to Euro 6 OR supply an equivalent engine.

So, will the new car have this?
BMW N63

Yes, a Turbo, but with air to water intercoolers and designed ot fit where the N62 went.

And, 408 to 560 bhp...... Very scary!

But it would push the Mog back into the Super Car arena ..

Can't wait to see the Geneva report and interestingly the launch is on the same day as the March Mog Mag comes out.

What a coincidence!

Peter I think you have nailed it and I already like it alot. Sounds like it would fall into the current Aero price bracket, therefore will the performance and appearance of this likely beast be enough to encourage sales. The current coupe and supersport are beautiful "automotive theatre" to quote Charles, but have experienced slow sales.
