There is a Plus6 Peter.........it's known as the Roadster! Roadster = Readitional chassis, hair shirt, etc. Plus 6 = Aero Chassis, Automatic, etc. Aero 6 = Economy Aero 8 for markets where local taxes make the Aero 8 impossible. The Aero and Trad bases both have strengths and weaknesses. The result would be simmilar, but very diferent cars. Both could be offered by MMC and I think they would attract different customers. Actually an Aero 4 with the full ford Ecoboost motor putting out about 250 bhp with the Turbo, would be sensible in places like Ireland, Italy, Belgium and others where large (over 2000cc) engines are stupidly taxed on an annual basis.

Bore da Aerotaff where have you been ? I agree the car must be road and owner ready before sales start , to maintain customer satisfaction and repeat sales ........personally I don't think there's much of a cost saving in the new chassis ,it's just better ...however the new car seems to be priced more fairly than , the +8 , I know which one I would choose for the money ......

Bore Da SIMONG...... I agree that the new Aero8 must have niggles solved. I am glad the boot hinges for the Geneva car were only temporary! Easy access for servicing would be high on my list for the car.....no wings off etc. If engineered in during design then later costly issues re redesign warranty etc will be avoided. The ability to build up from a base car spec is ok too. Re boot area.....a neat pull over cover to keep it enclosed when the lid is open would be nice... I think the car will be a success...some S1. -S4 Aeros soon be up for sale! Price? Hmmmmm....competitively placed against the Plus8 a must. The plus8 is, in my mind, overpriced but a nice enough option to offer as a modern engineered car with the trad styling. For the money I would buy the Aero.

I wonder if MMC aero racing or other morgan engineering company will produce a retro fit wishbone and anti roll bar kit for the current aero , it would be interesting to see how effective the new set up is .

Interesting point Simon. Do you know if the Aeromax, Coupe or SS have the old setup too? SS front suspension - with no anti-roll bar. I like not having an ARB, you lose on direction change but gain on cornering composure. Another thing is that by allowing some roll there is a weight transfer to the outer rear wheel which should provide extra traction. I would be very interested in a back to back comparison between the 2 setups.

There is at least one Aero S2 running around with F&R ARB's. SPOONER ran the following car in Britcar for a couple of seasons both without and with ARB. His feedback is that the car is seconds quicker a lap with the ARB - so I'm inclined to think that the ARB adds a lot of value. Also from my observations of Aero's on track (both in and out of the hot seat) there is considerable body roll which is not an ideal situation. It's interesting to see that Morgan are beginning to adopt more tried and tested mechanical solutions - the rest of the industry has provided a test bed for the interveening 60+ years since the trad was penned' - probably a few sensible ideas out there.......

I think the car will be a success...some S1. -S4 Aeros soon be up for sale! So what do we call the new model. The Aero V, or perhaps given that it will be Euro 6 homologated (and available in 2016) we should skip 5 and go to Aero VI
