On the radio news this evening it stated that he took a swing at the producer. That is normally instant dismissal. Pity because I like the non pc and 1970's attitudes.

Time for Chris Harris, Vicky Butler Henderson and Sabine to takeover with some real talent and an end to the 1970's innuendo.
It's over run it's course by about 3 years as far as I'm concerned - complacency does not make for good entertainment. Chris Harris Def gets my vote.

If Clarkson leaves the BBC, who else would counterbalance the endless hand-wringing, timid, liberal bilge that gets pumped out by the BBC in return for our compulsory licence-tax? If he does go, then I'd be very in favour of getting Monkey Harris onto Top Gear.

It's not as if you don't know what to expect from JC and if you are likely to not like it or be offended then don't watch.
It would be a dull world if we all had to conform to a single totalitarian interpretation of what can and cannot be said.
