IMHO the programme had lost its way but had a huge following. I don't understand the financial logic in not broadcasting three programmes already made.
It all seems out of proportion for a minor scuffle with someone who's name looks like an anagram!
My solution is to have Peter Dron film it from his home in France! He has a Morgan and is a more talented writer than JC. He also has a very low opinion of JC. But we need Sabine and Vicky to keep Peter young at heart!

Actually I have a very high opinion of JC. He can do no wrong as far as I am concerned. I sent him an e-mail a while back, suggesting that he should promote my book in some way or other. It began, "Ho JC, Elvis Presley will be 80 next Thursday and for some reason this made me think of you..."
I then arranged for him to receive, over lunch with a mutual friend, a copy of the book. He tweeted a photo of it, without checking the index...
JC's general journalism and interviewing are both of a very high calibre, and if you've been to the filming of TG, you'll have noticed that JC is much better prepared than the rather mistake-prone James May especially.
JC did a great documentary of IK Brunel about 10 years back, and I wonder if his interest in things outside cars (and he's clearly not interested in the oily bits or old cars) and even in politics gives him an opportunity to re-launch his brand as a grandee of the establishment with a politically incorrect bent.
It is interesting that it seems from media reports JC was the person who reported the incident to the BBC and that the other party has already retained a lawyer.
There is much more to this than meets the eye.
From the BBC website today:
Clarkson was suspended from Top Gear last week following an alleged altercation with producer Oisin Tymon.
Mr Tymon did not file a formal complaint and it is understood Clarkson reported the incident himself.
