I'll be more than happy for JC to take his arrogance to Sky. I don't have - and never will have - Sky, but the repeats will get onto Dave eventually, so I'll get to see any good bits without having to fume that some of my licence fee is going to bolster his millions. As a two faced hypocrit, though, I'll still continue to pick up his car review compilation books from charity shops, since he does write a good column. James will do ok on his own and Rich can come round to my gaff to discuss Morgans. As his ma and pa live 3 miles away it shouldn't be too onerous for him. And we can laugh about what a prat JC can be.

Whatever any of us think of JC the fact that he is generating so much comment in the press, and even TM, demonstrates his influence and impact is significant. No such thing as bad publicity?

It is interesting that it seems from media reports JC was the person who reported the incident to the BBC and that the other party has already retained a lawyer.
There is much more to this than meets the eye.

But I do think they should screen the remainder of this series. Having presumably recorded most of it already and so incurred the costs, it is petty in the extreme to refuse to screen those episodes. The bits they have on film are some of the inserts, ie car tests. None of the linking bits, the star in a reasonably priced car, audience bits and any Stig bits are filmed as this is done on a Wednesday. Content wise, probably a bit over half but with nothing to hang them on, rather silly to attempt. If it is a Clarkson attempt to get better terms on a new contract, I think he'll be sadly disappointed, attitudes to stars are not what they were and I could see it being the end of any BBC employment for him.

That's not really true, admittedly things that have a commercial aspect are not fully reported (no broadcaster would do this) but the way the story has mushroomed means answers have to be given.
But you can bet, whatever the outcome, and no matter how transparently it is arrived at, conspiracy nuts will allege the opposite took place.
