I therefore prefer drifting.

Going back to the pictures of the two cars cornering, isn't it interesting to see the way the suspension is reacting on each car? The factory car has suspension that really seems to work, whereas the production car just rolls. I have a feeling that far more can be done with the front end set up to eliminate the understeer, besides using different tyres.

Since that picture was taken , I have fitted Suplex adjustable shocks all round , Blockley tyres on the front and the situation at the front is very much improved - almost no roll now. Bit of a transformation really.
I believe Mark has Suplex adjustables on the front.

Mark was running the Spax adjustables all round. I've got them on the back but with the Suplex on the front which seems to work well.

Surely 5 understeer is inevitable. All that weight is at the front. I like the underzteer, its helarious on a track and keeps the porches guessing where in the hell your trying to go.
It keeps me on my toes and lets me mash the accelerator pedal out of the bend.
Keeping the throttle on just enough to keep it going round...It kind of feels like sailing or skiing; you have to get it hust right.

I have only driven an M3W in a car park so experience nil, however I have always been surprised, based on my sidecar experience, at the use of such narrow tyres on the front of the M3W.

If it was a sidecar outfit with that power you would want radial tyres all round with with on the front something like the size of the tyres used on a 4/4, perhaps a tad narrower if available.

PS. Speaking of roll over safety; I would want the Australian specification roll hoops thank you. I value my head.

It is still a motorcycle tyre. What you really need is sidecar tyres or narrow car tyres. Unfortunately not many choices are available for the design Morgan has chosen to use.

Has anyone looked into mounting different wheels so that automotive tires/tyres can be fitted instead? The Hot Rod custom community and parts suppliers might have something that maintains the desired look while allowing more choices of rubber.

Has anyone tried some slightly wider tyres on the front? I notice that Blockley do a 450X19 tyre as well as the standard 400X19. The 450 will fit a 2.5" rim, is 13mm larger in diameter and 10mm wider than the 400, so may (just) fit inside the mudguards. The larger diameter may also help with the optimistic speedometer readings as well. I will probably have to replace my Avons soon as the wear rate was excessive pre Empire kit, although much better now with even wear across the tread.
