Hi,
With my 79 4/4. I have an electric problem.

The car refused to start and just a clicking noise was heard when I turned the key.

I thought it might be the solinoied so I changed that.

Now none of the electrics work and the ignition light does not even come on.

However there is power as there is a voltage reading on the solinoid and the battery.

Any idea what it could be?
Thanks,
William

Sounds to me like you either have a duff battery William, (How old is it??, if over four years change it anyway, false economy not to).

But if the battery is OK maybe a bad earth connection against the bodywork/chassis or bad connection from the battery to the starter motor. Check the battery connections are TIGHT and smear with a light coating of vaseline.

Can't see it being anything too serious if it was starting OK a few days ago, but I am NOT really an expert to be honest..Are you in the AA or similar??

Incidentally, for anyone who stores their Moggie for any length of time (over two weeks) I would recommend a good battery conditioner such as an optimate,(around

Hi,
Was thinking about the battery. I will be away up north fishing this weekend but on Monday I will try the battery in my 87 4/4 in it to see if it works.

The thing is that nothing works not even lights.

If i put a test light on the battery it goes on...

The car isn't mot'd and I am in Norrich Union rescure which does not cover that Morgan, just my one.

William,

Did you find out where the problem was?

Simon
