Thanks definitely interested

Just a bit concerned that an open induction will pull through hot air from around the engine

The hotter the air , the less oxygen, the less efficient the engine

should I be concerned?

Does not effect mine but if you are going at a fare old speed then the amount of cold air getting into the engine bay via the grill and under it should rule that out but you wont know till you try . My oil temp gauge moves up when I stop so I know what the true reading is just by looking at it on the move . The magic of owning a mog others think its madness .

I think so plus if not in the airbox you get more induction noise. Then it depends if you like that or not.

Rapide engineering do a clever kit for the Sigma 4/4, makes it cold air induction in a shield.

Cain of Wolfperformance is clever at doing diverted cold air to an induction kit.

Just an update

This evening I swapped the paper air filter for the K&N one. Very easy swap, just had to take three bolts out to lift the filter box clear of the water expansion tank/reservoir thingy whatever it's called - black thing where water goes ( you can tell I dont know much about cars)

Popped the new filter in and took it for a quick drive round a few country lanes and the engine and exhaust is definitely louder, deeper sounding and more rumble

I would not have believed a filter could make that much difference
