This story really does seem to have been blown up out of all proportions. I for one would miss JC's contributions. If we're going to get someone banned from our screens, here's my nomination.

The odious Philip Schofield is still working in television despite the disgraceful stunt he pulled when he ambushed David Cameron and wrongly and unfairly "outed" Alistair McAlpine as a paedophile live on TV by waving a piece of paper with his name in front of the cameras.

The man should never have been allowed to work in broadcasting ever again, unless the show was "Professional Boxers punch Schofield in the mouth" yet I see his smug features popping up on the box regularly.

Who can say if the stress of the whole thing didn't contribute to McAlpine's death just over a year later. It does make a spat with a colleague over a sandwich seem rather trivial.

That would be worth pay-per-view!

Looks like its going to get dirty as JC has been to see his lawyers about the Savile remarks . I said to when I first heard it, " here comes huge trouble for the BBC they never think first" .Sometimes they deserve all they get . What would we feel to be told we where like that sick slimy B*stard .

No offence, but surprise that Stewart Lee can earn a living as a comedian. On this evidence - which is all I ever want to see - what a nasty, talentless waste of space he is. I was expecting an English Frankie Boyle, but Lee has none of Boyle's danger, intelligence or audience engagement.

And he spells his name wrongly.

I think it would work. While we're on the subject, one of my ideas for improving football would be to allow referees to punch one player per season - it might make them less keen to get up in the ref's face so much. For Scottish football, perhaps a headbutt could be substituted if desired.

Obviously, certain players would get punched a lot; but then, they probably deserve it.

Jeremy Clarkson has instructed lawyers to demand an immediate retraction from the BBC after a senior employee compared him to Jimmy Savile, it has emerged.

It's looking like the love affair is over now. Two separations in a 12 month it's a good job he's loaded.

It's unfortunate that any reference was made re that odious creature but it does seem that JC was not actually compared to Saville but that the issue of people working with him were scared to report him in case they were not believed...as was the case with people who worked with Saville. Still inexcusable reference though especially with the press stirring things up.
If JC did actually hit the producer, he really hasn't got a leg to stand on. Pretty erratic behaviour for someone who has a number of enemies in the BBC who are looking for an excuse to get rid of him...if the press are to be believed. It does make one wonder if he doesn't care any longer.

Yes an extremely contentious comparison and you cannot help feeling that someone within the Beeb is trying to fan the flames and for that I feel sorry.
The producers admission to A&E seems to be authentic but he may just have choked on his Smorgasbord...
It will be an unfortunate end to a most successful partnership but everyone is easily replaceable in the media and I think like many "stars" before him they soon lose sight of this.
