Grade A2-80 or A4-80 stainless should be fine. Yes they will be less tough than carbon steel 8.8 bolts but not likely to be a problem. Normal stainless bolts are A2-70 and could be a bit on the low strength side. Fact and myth go well together!

Atlantic Coast Highway to Widemouth Bay then back home via Bude. Bit cold but couldn't be too bad as the sea was full of surfers, maybe a competition?

Cheers Calum
I was a bit shocked at the state of the rear end after a winter of driving.
Nothing is stainless back there.

Matty, if you're doing this soon mate, record everything you change as I'm sure all the steel hardware is going to need to be replaced with stainless on most cars driven during the winter time - sourcing the correct replacement bolts is crucial. Titanium may also be an option. Be it an expensive one.

How are the rear wheel adjustors looking on your car? If we can get hold of a full 'everything you need stainless' kit so much the better.

Are we going out and about in the cars soon?

It looks like non stainless and lots of copper-slip is best option on suspension components. Stainless on all non stressed components like adjusters etc.
I will keep a list of all bits and bobs.
Well now I've cleaned the salt of the old girl and the rain has done the same for the roads I'm up for a spin this weekend.

Matty, I opened up the back of the M3W and removed the tray this evening and it's going to take a whole lot more cleaning before I get going with the stainless renew.
Like you, I was horrified at the state of the whole rear end swing arm assembly and tanks. The mudguard simply isn't doing anything
Mate, Sunday is the annual Epsom to Brighton veteran motorcycle run - Fancy it? - It's an early start but should make for an interesting day.

Charles, they start departing Epsom race course at o crack sparrow (0800)

I'm not looking at doing the whole run as its bedlam when you get into Brighton, and in an M3W I've got no intention of cooking the engine as I'm currently driving an un modified version.
Where do you want to meet, I'm thinking of somewhere in the Berkshire/Surrey borders

What's your route from Oxford mate

Matty, Chris R1NGA et all - guys are you up for a trip

Unfortunately I'm out on a mate's 60th birthday bash (on mountain bikes!), but will keep my eyes open for interesting bikes.... :-)
