The stainless steel wire wheels are heavier than the stock alloys.

If you abide by the principal that it is ideal to reduce the unsprung weight, to a minimum, at each corner of the car, the lighter the wheel the better.

Reducing the weight of the wheels will assist the suspension and therefore the composure of the car on road, or track.

You also have the overall issue of weight vs power... as Colin Chapman said, "add lightness to go quicker".

That said, I'd always buy what you like based on aesthetics when it comes to something you are owning for pleasure. smile

1560,
Lovely color combination. congrats on your choise. wine (maybe even better with black wire wheels? hide) All a matter of taste of course. But I am intreaged by the "not good for speed comment" thinking Can anyone be more "specific" on that. I have done a fair bit of thrashing around on the b-roads already and also been flat out on the motorway, should I worry? and if so what would happen? I was told it would be fine altough the spokes might need a tune up at some point in the future. Not heard much on this issue yet. JT

Hi,
I would love to see some pictures of the car when it is finished, especially with the roll bar and the alu dash center. Who is your dealer? JT
