You weren't tempted by a Bentley then? ~iw No - I've seen the stipped down chassis in the showroom - its just lumps of old iron and bits of wood. Who would buy a car like that? I understand that they do tours of the showroom. I dont know whether you have to pretend to have the wherewithal to be seriously interested or not. I'm always wary when there isn't a price tag.... Haha. Quite a lot of iron and a whole tree. I have actually done the tour, I tagged along with my son when he went with the Scouts. It's a very interesting place and William Medcalf is extremely knowledgeable and interesting ... but as you say, don't ask the prices! Anyway, I look forward to seeing another 4/4 4-seater around the town. ~ian P.S. And don't forget to register for The Goodwood Breakfast Club Soft Top Sunday in June.

Eric,
I'm not in the least worried, really. Dave said to me on the phone when we discussed buying it unseen "If you don't like it we'll give you your money back" and I get the sense that Morgan dealers attach a lot of importance to their reputation.
Over the course of four conversations with three different people I got the same story about the background of the car and the delivery trip from Malvern and it didnt sound rehearsed. I wouldn't make investments on behalf of the company I work for on this basis, so I'll be a bit nervous until I see it for real.
Mark Hello Mark and welcome to the wonderful world of Morgan ownership. I bought my car from Allon whites and I have the car serviced by them. They have also done various bits and bobs for me. I find them first rate so if the distances/travel works out for you I would certainly give them a go. Andy

One option, should you choose to use Allon White, is to take a day's holiday and book one of their courtesy cars (needs a bit of notice). Old Warden (Shuttleworth Collection) and Bletchley Park are just two of the places that are easy to get to from Cranfield.

Welcome to the forum, Mark. I'd recommend BHM, too, as for doing your own maintenance, they run occasional training days with just that in mind. Gerry. http://www.morgan-cars.com/2013/11/an-example-event/

Thanks to all for the extensive and friendly welcome to Morgan ownership and to Talk Morgan. Really useful advice already and I've yet to collect the car!

Welcome and congratulations; what a fantastic looking car, and well equipped with options. Here is one of their photos I had my first brush with Morgan before I turned two and despite years of desire, and too many sensible cars, it took until I ordered ours from the factory as a 65th birthday present to myself. 33,000km later we have had a lot of fun, made many new friends, endless smiles and no regrets at all.

Welcome!
I brought my 4 seater sight unseen and have been very pleased with it ever since.
I can echo the comments re BHM - they've helped me a lot from the other side of the world!
Enjoy and look forward to some photos.

Welcome from la belle France, and congratulations on the car. I hope you gain as much pleasure and satisfaction from it as I have from my Morgan. I'd say that Richard Thorne up near Reading would be the closest dealer to you, tho' I echo the for BHM; they have been very friendly and helpful in my dealings with them.

Including a towbar! Now you've set me thinking about my 65th birthday present :-)
