Perhaps a better punishment would have been to make Clarkson do that for one series as pennance.

 I remember with great joy Sabine showing him how to drive the Nurberg Ring - if I remember correctly he had the latest turbo diesel Jag and she beat his time driving a Transit van. It's only funny because his ego travelled before him and she appears not to suffer with one.

Sadly Clarkson would never make a Stig....his driving skills are pretty average if his antics on the track are anything to go by. Compared to Stig who is a pretty smooth driver, JC seems to rely heavily on electronic aids to let him go round smoking tyres. I know it's all for amusement but something you very rarely see Stig do.

Whatever the Beeb decide I hope they can come up with some programme which appeals to car lovers across the globe. I'd hate to see motoring forgotten and the space in the schedules replaced by another cookery or antiques show.

Sorry Reg, I don't agree. In this day and age you just cannot be allowed to hit someone in the face in a work place and be allowed to get away with it.
It is a sad end to Top Gear and Clarkson should be ashamed of himself for bringing the programme down. That's the point the line has to be drawn and Clarkson clearly crossed it end of story we don't live in the jungle anymore.
