Am I the only one wondering what the bloke who said he was sorting the quality issues are at the factory is actually doing all day?
Not expecting instant fixes and solutions but it's been some time since the issue of none answered emails and lack of customer focus was raised with him.....what changes and procedures have been put in place because nothing much seems to have changed since I had to engage Hereford and Worcester Trading Standards help to get the MMC to sort an issue on my 12 week old +8 back in 2002 that they were ignoring.... Yes, it's absolutely incredible, isn't it? It would cost practically nothing to install a simple issue tracking system. If I was at a loose end I'd volunteer to set up and run a quality monitoring program for free, and simply take as a bonus a percentage of all the money I saved them on warranty claims.

Just checked out the legal position, thanks Jays, and it is 'a speedo must never show less than its actual speed and never more than 110% plus 6.25mph' To be honest I would be happy with a 10% over figure but now find my car doesn't comply with UK and EU legislation because it always displays a speed below its actual speed. I chased the factory today and very politely pointed out that they appear to have supplied an illegal car and would be grateful if the problem could be resolved. Half day closing on Friday but I live in hope that I may hear something next week.

Lastly, one of the problems on the car was that at about 90 kph the odometer stopped working. Was advised that this had been fixed but, hay ho, it still does not work. One would have thought that repairs would have been checked before the car is returned to the customer. I must old fashioned
I believe there is a thread somewhere on here about that issue, I think the speedo had to be returned to MMC. Found it apparently it should have a green dot on the back, if it doesn't it needs to go back to be re-flashed.

Hopefully the affected odometers have been rectified by now and the factory have sorted out owners problems on this thread. I tested my GDI (a month old) against the GPS today and it was around 3 MPH over up to 40 MPH and beyond that it hovered from 4 MPH over to 7 MPH over at 75 MPH so overall quite acceptable.
One thing that does irritate though is the way the needle flickers leaving it barely possible to know what speed you are doing without referring to the readout.

Still no reply from Morgan after several weeks. My speedometer remains illegal as it displays a speed below the actual speed. To illustrate the disparity at an indicated 30mph on the analogue display the gps shows 34mph and the digital readout shows 38mph. The difference between the analogue and digital readout is 8 mph at all speed readings and all I have requested is that the analogue and digital read the same, which should be simple to achieve if Morgan hadn't locked down the VDO menus. That way the analogue reading will be over the actual speed but within the 10% plus 6.25 mph reading the law allows and that I would be happy with. Not at all impressed with Morgan's post sale standards, again.

Sorry to hear that Andrew. It does seem a little odd that the readout differs from the needle on the same gauge. I admit that I took more notice of the comparison between the GPS and the readout which was similar to your experience. I suppose the readout being over the GPS isn't an issue but you could get caught out if you drove by the needle as opposed to the readout. As we all tend to do that, it isn't acceptable. Makes you wonder which out of the three is the most accurate.
I must check the needle comparison again, as it flickers a little I didn't take much notice.
No doubt you will let us know how you get on.
