I think Rutherford Engineering supply them.
Hearing Cerealsurfer's car start up on side exhuast I think the noise would be too much for me

I had side exhaust on a Kent engined 4/4. It was load enough to set off car alarms just by touching the throttle a little extra. It was great fun on short trips but not so much on longer trips. In the end swmbo wanted a new more civilized Morgan.

Sound fun (see what I did there).

Oh so tempted laugh but then thought we use the car on road trips and cannot hear the boom box as it is and the sports exhaust sounds good anyway. I know what head office would say nono

I'll have to wait until I get a V8 smile

Side exhausts are great fun- but as others have said- you've got to be sure that you can endure " the fun" on a longer drive.

In the end I went for the Aero rear exhaust - after driving a side exit version.

Be great if you could find a simple way of swapping based on the drive ahead?

Not practical, really.

Have done many miles in Aero's with sides and love the sound, particularly of the dual's. happy3

However have ordered rear pipes on the new car, to ring the changes!

I love the side exhaust and put the plus 8 on the motorway at 70ish mph and its low rpm and quiet enough for a comfortable journey.

I think that the rear end of the new car rather suits rear pipes!

The low revving nature of a V8 suits side exhausts, whereas a screaming four becomes wearing in short order. There are a few outfits running electronic and manual exhaust switching systems in the Harley world over in Europe such as Kess-Tech or Jeckyll & Hyde.

This would be an ideal set-up with a side exit for evil grin mornings, but a rear exit normal outlet for management transport days..

Oh I don't know: a moterised valve in the exhausts to switch the gas flow from side to rear, plus modifications to hte engine map, launch control and suspension damping are all possible, Jaguar can do it. All it needs is money for the development...

I rather like the idea, as used by Tesla, of a button labelled "Insane Mode"!
