I think it's perfectly acceptable for the older blokes on the forum to seek out more comfort. And to leave young bucks like Adrian (and I) to rough it in the trads. I resemble that remark! Me also!

Brian
it was...
For Caroline and me the auto Plus 8 ticks all the boxes so Tarka will be about for some time to come. I've driven 2000 miles since 1 December, through the winter, simply for the joy of driving it.
I'm now trying to "justify" a M3W to the management. At the moment it isn't an option but once I've retired it could be. It will need some garage reorganisation to get both a Plus 8 and a M3W in.
But you know, a 4/4 with cycle wings, aero screens and no hood = mini speedster would be quite compelling (and possibly cheaper) as well as having the luxury of a heater! I've started a new thread on this topic!

Having been in Peters Roadster and his aero plus 8 as well as my own Roadster as well as a 2014 plus 4 they are all very different cars. The ride on his latest car is a very very nice ride and very controlled when needs be I think Neil will enjoy his very much apart from the cleaning that is As a new prospective owner strangely enough I was steered away from Adrian's 3.7 Roadster by Williams which was odd and ended up with mine which can bite when it wants it's tried to a few times! If first is that bad on that then crikey! as it's a handful on my 3.0. I tend to be a bit rash maybe I should have taken more time choosing I can't really blame the spaniels or Peter there! Neil enjoy your new car this week and let's hope the weather is kind. Oh it's not obligatory to blip the throttle to show the pipes off, okay it's kind of cool in a childish hooligan way but not obligatory.....

Mark, interesting you say Williams steered you away, maybe because you were coming from a 4/4 and me from a Plus 8. I test drove mine and immediately insisted on AVO's all round to get a better ride. It can be a firmish ride but softer that the +8. The worst thing was the Rev hang now sorted with the new ECU. It is now great to drive. I am contemplating some suspension mods, but probably not till next year.

I only test drove a 4/4 I was coming from 698cc of raw triple power of my smart Roadster (still have it) maybe they thought I'd die in it........... Maybe Williams had people waiting in the wings for the 3.7 and no one for the 3.0? so quite clever really!

Or Mark, may be they didn't want to sell you a car that had been thrashed to within an inch of its life on the factory Nordkapp run?

Just before I leaped into Morgans, I had a similar conversation with a Dealer in the Northern climes who told me that new to Morgan owners often started with a 4/4 and worked up the range. Clearly this does happen, and a cynic might consider that this approach brings in more sales as the new owner trades up. Some on here have followed that path, but it depends on where you came from car wise, and the extent of your restraint! I had a very fixed idea of what I wanted, so being steered away from a car wouldn't have deterred me in the slightest! Driving it might have though, especially hanging revs, which I would have trouble accepting.
