Lance,

A Mog is a car to be enjoyed, on the road. In any weather.

If it sits in the garage being washed and poished and used a few days a year it is dying....some of us can hear them scream.

The Result of Not Using a Mog

Seriously, they age more from lack of use than careful proper use. Bit like people.....

Enjoy!

Taking it out in the rain washes the salt off Lance. Get in it, drive it, enjoy it, clean it, get in it, drive it, etc (repeat until you go to meet your maker and you'll go happy).

You'll note my strap line below Lance !

Cheers

Completely agree with Peter in that using a Mog all year round and in all weathers keeps them in good condition, and more important they are great fun to drive in less clement weather. Lack of use kills Morgan's so please use the car whenever you can. As you say it gets wet when you wash it so a bit of rain isn't going to hurt.

Totally agree with all of the above although for washing I use PH neutral snow foam with a power washer the foam drags dirt off the car then use Maxi Suds 11 chemical guys then towel dry. So Lance welcome but use it or lose it so they say!

Would be keen to hear results on the paint front as well, as have a few small areas on my car to do..

Any pics?

Welcome to TM Lance

There is a great well read post about washing a Morgan on the forum which helped me

Certainly can recommend Blackfires metal polish and protector mentioned in the thread and I use Maguires Detailer spray in-between wax's after a wash

My wings are getting a bit tatty - paint bubbles near the wing beading, badly touched up chips around the wing side lights and small chips on the raised wing lower edges

I've been quoted about £250 a wing for a full respray with 2 hours work on top in total to drop both the wings clear of the main body

I'll probably get it done late this year or early next year but in my opinion it's not an outrageous cost to say it would be the first respray after 15 years.

So basically £1k to drop the wings, spray them and refit.. that's not bad..
