OxMog has no membership fee and we run a busy Centre effectively enough. And no Golf!

I was an MSCC member from 1991 to April 2009. I just got bored of it and got little out of the magazine. It did not help that stuff I wrote for publication was ignored, (not even acknowledged).

I fail to see the utility of a car club with substantial reserves. If the reserves were for the purchase or remanufacture of obsolete spares I could sympathise. If the club produced a spares list or a workshop manual, I would be an enthusiastic participant, but unless I am much mistaken, it does not.

George, you have no need to feel sorry for me not agreeing with the establishment!

I share the misgivings of magazine content that are expressed on TM and elsewhere. My centre is fairly active but nothing like as car-orientated as I expected when I joined, just prior to buying my car at the beginning of 2013.

I smell change in the air and if it materialises I will stick with it but I am looking around and will perhaps join a no-make classic car club as well.

But it never ought to be like that.

TM is better than Miscellany by far - compliments to all.

As I have said before I'm a member of mscc, the problem with the Scottish group most things are mid week. So that rules it out due to work commitments. Saying that they do seem to be well supported. I have meet more Morgan owners though TM than I have though mscc.

As an overseas member all I really get is the magazine (we have a strong local club that is affiliated).

For the money I don't see the value. Nothing personal and I am sure the centres if I were in the UK would add another dimension. But that dimension is covered (via another membership) locally.

Your thoughts mirror mine exactly - so I have joined the Cotswold Classic Car Club. I am still a member of SpotMog, and they are a lovely bunch of people, it's just that they don't seem to want to talk about cars much, and most of their events seem to be during the day when I'm at work, and involve 'brown shoe' lunches and/or golf. Nothing wrong with that at all, it's what they want to do, but not for me.

I notice in the Editorial of the latest Miscellany that they are working on including more technical topics... But, apparently, there is a shortage of same... Maybe Charles should go back through his Inbox over the last 8 years and pull out all the techie stuff he was sent but totally ignored...

I joined MSCC for several reasons back in 2001
1) I was looking for a Morgan
2) I was hoping for tech articles like the MX5OC, MGOC of old and various LR club journals
3) Was interested in providing support for Morgan motorsport events

3) is the only one that has made the grade.
1) was sorted through a totally independent workshop for my first car (and through Mogtalk for the +4), then through the great people at BHM for the third.
2) has been pretty much non-existent throughout the period - good thing I joined the MTWC a couple of months prior - that at least has some interesting tech reading, even though I don't own a 3W.

Like Tim, I am also a member of the CCCC, which if nothing else would satisfy some classic car insurance policies... There is a gathering Sunday at the clubhouse Tim, or are you at Stroud market tomorrow? I need to get out for a bit!

I read that and it annoyed me, we all know many articles have been submitted and ignored, yet the blame for the lack of articles is inferred to be a members problem. I just feel the leadership team are out of touch.
