Just out of curiosity, but am I correct in thinking that depending on "colour" choice, the Speedster steel lookalikes" are actually different wheels?

Black:




Silver:


It's as if the black ones look much more like steelies, and it's not because of the colour. Those "inset" nuts really makes a difference to the look, imho.


Are they even from the same manufacturer?

Not the same manufacturer.

The black wheels are off the shelf items which didn't really look right in the detail and only one set were ever used for publicity/photo/launch shots while the silver type as seen where being designed and produced

Thank you, both of you.

I prefer the shape of the black ones, to be honest. The silver ones look so flat, and I don't think the in-fill (for want of a better word) looks that great. Perhaps that "newer" shape would be hidden a bit if they were black?
