I´m just re-organizing my garage. To have the correct spanners when I receive the new car, I was wondering whether a 2009 Plus4 has metric screws or inch-screws? (or both? ) Andy.

Based on my 2003/2004 4/4, my guess is "both". All the engine stuff is metric, all the newer fittings are metric, but a lot of body/chassis parts, brake stuff etc. is inches.

It seems to be mostly Metric, but there are loads of allen headed bolts, so get a decent set of allen keys. You probably won't be surprised if I tell you that my spanners are laid in trays in size order..................... Open ended in one tray, rings and combo's in another.

I find this just about covers everything Not sure what the new cars are like but they used to be a mix of Metric, A/F, Whitworth ans the odd 2ba thrown in for good luck

Hi Andreas, what about this MetrInch Tools http://www.metrinch-tools.com/ A perfect solution for a Morgan, I use these tools since about 15 years! Cheaper than SnapOn and you need only half of them !! Looking for to meet you in the near future during a trip with your +4 .

I have metrinches in my tool roll that I keep in/with the Morgan, but have separate metric and imperial sockets and wrenches in the garage.

Andy,
Are you planning to rebuild a 2009 Morgan, perhaps it needs some squeaks and rattles adding, shame to have a nice quiet car even for a few miles? difficult to come to terms with a new quiet Morgan.
Myself I would not touch it until guarantee runs out, then apart from servicing wait for the first breakdown after that, the car should be good for a few years.
Spend money saved on petrol to wear it out a bit!

Hi everyone, Metrinch is a good point. Thanks, Marc-Oliver. I really don´t want to disassemble a brand new car. I just realise that probably on a hand-made car it might be necesary to tighten some bolts every now and then. If something comes loose, I would hate to use a pipe wrench on a 1/4 inch nut because the metric spanners do not fit. By the way: it seems that I will receive the car on March 28th. Hope there´s good weather then. Andy
