I saw an Aeromax in a at Mogworks with just that problem. The connections I understood are special & from BMW

On my S3 I have had fluid in much the same place, but although it takes an age to evaporate so makes you think it's oil at first, it's been either water from the wash bottle reservoir or coolant from the joints with the radiator. I think there's a weak connection between the reservoir and the headlamp washers.
I get the fluid on the nearside just in front of the front wheel and on the steering rack dripping down. It's been fixed a few times but does tend to recur on the (my) S3 although the leak is always slow.
Pardon mentioning it as an S3 manual is a good bit different but I was a bit worried and it turned out to be a much more minor problem than I'd thought! Hoping yours is too!!

Yesterday I had the jubilee clip on the automatic gearbox hose tightened and levels checked. To be on the safe side I've booked the car in for a full service the week after next. I believe this started a week or so ago when a suicidal pheasant went under the front wheel and then seemingly disappeared. My guess is the carcass went up, bounced around (knocking the hose) and fell out sometime later. Yuck... Thanks again for the comments.

If it had stayed underneath for any length of time it would have dropped out cooked its gets hot under there. There are also quite a few vunerable wires but most probably now sorted on the super sports.

Update - I had the hose tightened and gearbox oil topped up but it started leaking again on our last drive, which was fortunately to the Morgan factory!
Apparently this is a common problem - the metal the hose sits over corrodes (inside the hose) and the part (not confident which part) needs replacement at around £500. Sounds like a weakness Morgan or we should address as nothing like this should fail in such a short time.

The unit on my Plus 8 was weeping fluid: MMC replaced it under warranty.
There is a similar unit on my BMW, loks as if it is the same BMW part, but it is inside the engine compartment, not exposed under the wheel arch. Really not the brightest place to put it.

Agreed Peter, not ideal and it seems this will go for everyone at some stage. The part isn't in the parts diagram but can be seen here: http://www.pistonheads.com/pics/news/19800/tn_MogChassisTest-L.JPGFor others, look at the box in the front wheel well with two hoses coming out beneath (and some gubbins above). Does anyone know what the BMW part number is? I'm going to see if there's a stronger aftermarket part or some way of protecting the unit - I really don't want to be replacing this every five years!

Update again - it looks like part 17217505823 (BMW) but can anyone confirm?
