Had a run through the Lords Throat this is an unclassified road in Aberdeenshire runs from near Monymusk towards Keig. Videos show my run. Part one was on 12th & part 2 on 22nd. I wanted to wait for a new camera mount for part 2 for the roll bar. Part one mount was suction mount below roll bar.
In less than 12 hours we are heading out for a huge MINI Cooper ralley in North Carolina (700 MINIs)... 600+ miles from us. My MINI will be running in front with luggage and supplies and my M3W following. We did this same run last year.... 1800 miles total fun miles in one week. We hope to clock more miles with this trip. It is scary yet exciting at the same time. The funniest thing is when people refer to my MINI as "the big car".
Really wanted to get out for a run in the three wheeler today but I have to admit to wimping out after looking out the window a few moments ago. Spring has obviously sprung.
This day, April 29, I went out on an 80 mile ride in Southern Vermont. I am approaching riding season gingerly as one first has to check out the state of the pavement before one decides to get hoonish and stupid.
The roads are, more or less, terrible. The only good roads are the 2 Interstate highways as well as the one limited access state highway, which aren't much fun unless speed is your thing. Too much traffic and tractor trailer combos which throw crap in your face. All the rest still have frost heaves, depressions, pot holes and one miserable road I had the extreme misfortune to be on is trying to return to its previous state: gravel.
Today also had wind gusts during the entire journey. It ripped my hat off at one point so I had to stop and do a search. It ripped my hat off yet the goggle strap was still on the back of my head where it belonged.
It wasn't by any measure a very long ride but I am very tired. Fighting the roads, the wind and the sideways gusting had me doing everything to just keep to my side of the road as well as just staying on it!
I didn't have fun today. I hope tomorrow will be better.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
Michael, that was a bit depressing, I hope things improve and you can start enjoying your time with your M3W. I rarely venture out when the weather or conditions are that bad.I have however been on rides when things have changed for the worse and been drenched trying to get home. It's no fun. Our little car is only for fair weather.....
