With the change to synthetic oil what impact would that make to the oil change frequency.

I'm preparing for a trip to South Carolina about 850 miles each way. I've changed the engine oil, greased all the zerks and now its the turn of the transmission. Not sure what oil to use, all the oils listed in the manual aren't available in Canada. Help would be greatly appreciated.
