Innotec are in Churchfields trading estate 5 miles from me. I think a trip there is called for...they have other interesting stuff too....

Go buy yourself a brake caliper pin punch set Peter normally two in a set 5.5mm and 6mm
or a triple set sizes 3 4 and 6mm
I take it the calipers do use a standard size pin?
At least they'll have the correct depth ability.

If you do it with the hose connected keep on eye on the brake fluid reservoir as your push the pistons back....

At least they'll have the correct depth ability. My HiSpec calipers have pins which are secured by R clips, so I have no need of a caliper pin punch set. The thing is, though, is that they might stop making them. And then I might buy a car that had calipers that need them. And then where would I be? There's always a reason to buy more tools..

When pushing the piston back in brakes I always open the bleed nipple as it is easier and removes a portion of the worked/cooked brake fluid rather than shoving it back up the hoses.

When pushing the piston back in brakes I always open the bleed nipple as it is easier and removes a portion of the worked/cooked brake fluid rather than shoving it back up the hoses. Given the car has ABS disconnecting brake hoses isn't something I want to do.  Given the radiator header tank is immediately above the brake master cylinder removing fluid is going to need a syringe and a plastic pipe.  Yes, buying a pin push set makes a lot of sense. More tools...

Oh come on Peter, get the bonnet and wings off then there's plenty of space!
You can always then get in the nooks and cranies and give them a good clean and waxing!

Regarding the WD40:
I consider most of these aerosol oils equal because they mainly are kerosene, naphta or iso-paraffin or equal stuff with only minor differences in chain-length and boiling-point. But curious as I am, I had a look at the datasheet of Deblock. That is really different. It contains 10-25% Aceton, which explains the better penetration capability that you have experienced. Thanks for the advice.
