I collected my G56 kit from Silverstone yesterday and fitted it today, no problems other that getting the original exhaust off the manifold, the sealant didn't want to let go. The new kit is better finished than the demo I tried a few weeks ago, the silencers have rolled edges and better seams. The air filter is just a cover change, 4 Allen screws. You even get a detailed set of installation instructions with the kit complete with photos. Sound is much like the demo, a nice low rumble at idle and not loud, fairly quiet on the move as well, quieter than the original I would say. Wide throttle is louder but certainly not open pipes painful loud. All very civilised and easy on your ears for a longer journey. I have only had chance for a short test drive but there is a noticeable improvement in torque and the engine seems more willing to rev at the top end. The figures on the performance graph seem realistic. The higher rpm pinking my car had seems to have gone, although it all gets a bit thrashy at higher rpm so difficult to say 100% cured or not yet. Still got to get used to the look of the bigger pipes, function over form this time.

Good job. I notice your windscreen is much bigger than stock - is this an MMC option, or Aftermarket?

Thanks, Planenut. Positive but realistic.
Has anyone tried seeing what happens if you just change the air-filter cover before changing the exhausts?

Has anyone tried seeing what happens if you just change the air-filter cover before changing the exhausts? Yup - makes no noticeable difference! Engine 'breathing' is a system that needs both sides to match ;-)

As R1NGA says, you need the full kit, no easy savings. I have not tried the original filter and the new exhausts either but G56 filter and exhausts together are pretty good, now I have had more of a chance to try them out.
