After my last service, my rocker cover gasket developed a leak. A spare gasket has proved difficult to find, so I've had a chat with my local independent Harley workshop and he is sourcing some for me from S&S at about £7 each with around 3 weeks delivery. They will be putting in the order early next week and are the same people who sourced my spare timing belt at very reasonable rates. Another very helpful source for S&S spares are these people http://www.mattsmachineshop.co.uk/ Their prices are "more competitive" than Morgan and they seem to have stock of, or can get, items fairly quickly.

The Harley community have a very active HOG movement and there must be valuable contacts amongst them for many M3W parts and accessories.

Wonder if Locktite anaerobic sealant would work. I use this stuff in a lot of places on my BSA's. Only thing I've found that provides a "leak free" crankcase seal

Have effected temporary repair with blue hylomar this evening as i need to stop the leak before going down to Monthlery Vintage Revival in a couple of weeks.
The problem appears to have been that the rocker cover securing screws had loosened with vibration over the 7000 miles the car has done. The screw at the leaking area was finger tight and when i looked at the other cover, several of those took a gentle tightening.
The original installation of the gasket was with a dark rubberish sealant, but the coverage was patchy and none in the area of the leak.

If you're still not sure about your temporary fix, I would just go to an auto parts store and get a sheet of gasket material the same thickness and make one up. That would at least get you a permanent fix and not wait 3 weeks.

There is not much meat on one particular section of the gasket. Also because they tear so easily I think they should be changed each time you take the rocker cover off. My local dealer used a mastic type sealant on mine and you can buy it in Halfords in pressurised tube. I keep some in the boot now.

The valve cover gaskets at s & s are metal covered with plastic film-coat Teflon kind since 2013/2014, it will no longer break like the old joints.

Yes I use a high temperature spec sealant for vtwins. I have had leaks. Have to be careful not to get silicone into the oil system.
