Also locking forward for the Kit...but I am a little concerned by the +8 Kilos per side on the exhausts, will it be to much for the exhaust carriers fixed only on the aluminium hull?!?...having cracs in the hull afterwards?!?

If it was worrying me too much, I would personally glue some backing plates onto the "hull" (I like that description of it) on the inside to make sure those +8 kgs didn't matter. Some form of stiff, somewhat thick plastic would do, with no fear of corrosion/electrolysis.

Edit: Just a thought. I am out of the threewheeler-world, so to speak.

It is 8Kg heavier overall, 4 Kg per side. My car, number 799, has alloy backing plates on the inside, not sure if the earlier ones did. I put some extra 40mm diameter load spreading washers on the inside as well. There are rubber gaskets fitted between the new brackets and the skin and larger anti vibe rubber bobbins than originally fitted. All in all, a better installation than the original exhausts. Ideal would have been to mount them to the chassis not the skin.

I have a 3 inch split in my 2014 body( supplied by Morgan as replacement due to,accident damage) just under the near side exhaust mounting bracket.
So yet another example of Morgan knowing about a problem but not letting dealers or anyone else know. Can you take a picture please. I have made my own plate but would be interested to see what Morgan have come up with.

Matty are you saying that there was no inside plate fitted to your 2014 skin?

Thanks for clarifying me on the weight, that splits my concerns in half mine is Sep.13 No. 877 I will check for backing plates in mine. do the new exhausts come with better bobbins?

These are the back up plates on my car as standard Matty.

My G56 system did not come with new bobbins but a set of these fit and you even get a spare one.

As mentioned, I also fitted 40mm diameter M8 penny washers on the inside (qty 12). You may like to get some stainless steel M8 nuts, washers and lock washers for the exhaust bobbins (qty 8 each). G56 supplied the 12 Allen head screws and washers for the brackets but not the M8 Nylocks, 12 of them required as well if you do not wish re-use the old ones. Nylocks are once only use locking device really.

Are you saying that later bodies have backing plates to strengthen the body but that older cars (mine's Oct 2012) won't have this and the body will likely crack?

And that this hasn't been a recall??

Or have I got my knickers in a twist over nothing...

Does anyone know how many bodies have cracked??
