Took the old pads out...well, well worn.
The old pads have the leading and trailing ends heavily chamfered at 45 degrees. Clearly done by hand, not manufactured.
The new AP Racing pads are not chamfered.
So, should I put chamfer on the new pads? My instinct is to apply a slight chamfer, to help with bedding in, but not to the amount found on the original pads...
Comments and advice very welcome!

It's often done to help reduce brake snatch and judder on some cars, for what it's worth (I have not worked on an Aero remember) would be to try them as they are, if there is a problem chamfer the leading edge only, test again and then try the trailing edge. Logic of this is if you imodify before testing you will never know if there would have been a problem and doing it in stages you can track improvements if any? All your risking is labour after all. Have fun.

Here are the new (left) and old (right)pads.. It is easy to see that the chamfering has been done by eye and not with any accuracy. Look at the far right, the chamfer edge is almost curved!! Interestingly looking at the old pads they are more worn where the upper, larger, piston applies force and slightly less worn where the lower smaller pistions apply force. The three pistons are all different sizes with latgest at the top, mid size in the middle and smallest at the bottom...:why? On 6 pot bike caipers I've had the upper and lower piston are the same size, the centre one smaller. !

Could be that MMC have never heard of Coppagrease?.......I think the progressive piston size is to do with brake feel, worth an email to AP in Leomington, they are very helpful and interested in Morgan's. I had some great help from them contact John Devis there a great chap.

Just for info I am sure you know but Caparo bought AP so now it's Caparo AP Braking, my head defaults to AP. ;-)

Caparo only purchased the road going side of the company.
Brembo hold a percentage in AP RACING

That's not the version that Caparo say when you talk to them, mind you we were only talking of issues with road cars.

It's all in Wiki Peter, like much of the car industry many of them have a share in each other, seems it's the racing part but it's all there if you Google and follow the Wiki lead.
Renault and Mitsubishi, and others, were shareholders in AB Volvo ;-).
