Reminds me of the time I bought a Mk1 Vitesse from a one eyed man in Maltby. The calipers were odd, the pads were odd, and two of the four were not touching the discs.
I taught MrsW to drive on that Vitesse, after attending to the brakes, and a few other dodgy things.

Had similar on mine a few year ago purchased those grooved and dimple brake discs but the feel on the foot was not correct nor was the brakes 100% and it pulled slighly to the left as though the wheels needed balancing . I asked a few mog owners and dealers had no luck. Then asked Dominic Mason his dad was Dave who raced the older lads will know of him.
Dominic told me the discs are made in China . I took the mog to him lives in the Lake district area and he stripped them down sent them away to have 1 or 2 Thou off each side of the discs, then refitted . His bill was not a lot now it can stop on its nose.

I was in Pistonheads this week.
A poster asked if it was ok to use copper grease on his discs/pads to cure a squeal!
He claimed to have seen it being put on at the dealer garage he bought the car from.
It immediately decended to a slanging match. It appears the poster did it deliberately to incite this.
I asked him to post details of the garage......citing dangerpus practice etc.
To confirm it was grease and not brake cleaner etc.
No further replies......looks like a fake post to wind people up!

Confused? Coppa Grease/Coppaslip or Rocol (different names for same thing) has been used for about 40 years on the back of brake pads to help stop squeal, as can be seen on Peters photos?....not sure what point your making?

No wonder your suspicions.....there has been a guy on here in the past that I know from other websites that would pull stunts like that, he was also not averse to a double login so he could post his nonsense and then agree with or applaud himself, he was a Legend in his own mind and we all know what's at a Leg-end and I don't mean the foot end either ;-)

Well, it would certainly stop brake squeal Philip!!!  Perhaps he wanted to emulate one of Ettore Bugatti's misquoted comments - "I build cars to go, not to stop!" Cheers,
