To pick up a 1964 Mustang. Then a two hour drive to get it home.

If anyone knows of a mechanic who might work on these in the East Midlands let me know. Clutch certainly needs some fettling! Cheers.

I'll post a photo or two if/when I get it back in one piece.

Well done & good luck with it. Talking to an owner yesterday at Gawsworth Hall classic car rally with his lovely 1966 289 Mustang that was mostly in original condition. he showed us the car handbook with the original keeper's name who had owned it until 2011. You could smell 1966 from the book!

Always had a soft spot for that car.

After seeing so many overweight (and generally over-chromed) Mustangs in Europe I really didn't see the point in them . Then I went to the Greenfield Village Heritage Museum outside Detroit and saw the original drop head on display. It was small , neat , and nicely styled and I must admit it rather restored my belief in them. The problem is that so many were produced with a power sapping autobox and a relatively low powered 6 cylinder motor, that the manual V8s are now becoming so hard to find , their prices are rocketing. Would love to see some pictures.

A Mustang in the disabled car park on Holy Island y/day LHD American plates yet it had a British blue badge on the dash . Spotted it later in Bamburgh , sunny and warm but his hood was up.

Not unknown for UK owners of American metal to put the UK registration onto American style plates. If done at the back, certainly illegal, but the front is another matter as a smaller plate can be used on imported cars where there is not space to put a full UK plate.

I've not heard of anyone being done for this, it would not be an easy case in court and the offence has a relatively small fine and no points. I believe a cherished number plate could be taken back by DVLC but I've no knowledge of that actually occurring either.

Like it , especially the interior. In those days manufacturers seemed to pay a lot more time to making their products feel special on the inside.
