The ONLY niggle with my 8 is the fuelling.

A visit to the petrol station for 40 litres takes about the same time as filling an ocean going ship. I need only the very lightest touch on the delivery trigger or it just shuts off. So I'm there forever filling the thing.

I've taken the back off and had a peek at the fuel pipe and vent pipe - no kinks, nothing untoward.

Is there anything I can do? I wondered about carrying a funnel in the back!

It can't be the vent, can it?

This may be a longshot Neil but I had very slow filling on my 44. I noticed that inside the filler, once the cap is removed, is a perforated alluminium ring. I think this is connected to a small flap that closes behing the hole. I noticed mine was at a 9 oclock position. I simply rotated the ring using a small spike, it moves easily, till the flap was hinged at the top, 12 oclock. My filling problem was instantly solved. It sounds weird but have a look, if the filler on a plus 8 is the same, you will easily see what I mean.

Ooooh, that sounds interesting Nick, thanks. I'm not going out the garage tonight (too far and it's dark and wet!) but will take a look tomorrow.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean - but when I look inside, I guess I will.

The 8's filling cap is identical to my Roadster and, I suspect, your 4/4.

I checked the vent - the smaller tube that runs from the tank back up to the flap. It looks fine.

I will check Nick's suggestion tomorrow....

My plus 8 has exactly the same problem. It's a real pain.

My Roadster used regularly vomit petrol onto my foot until I fitted a Le Mans fuel cap.

My +4 takes forever to fill - I have to balance the pump trigger just right. The only time I had a fast-fill was when the pump cut-out was dodgy and I ended up with a shoe full of unleaded! swear

My S4 Aero fills fine 😜 so I'm a lucky boy lol
Seriously I do know how frustrating a slow fill can be, I can only make one suggestion which you have all probably tried and that is to try rotating the nozzle when in the car, one of my wife's cars suffers with slow fill but if I get the nozzle in the right spot it fills fine.

I have the same problem filling my 4/4'.
If I pull the nozzle out slightly and turn it 90 degrees it fill quicker.
It is fun when at a busy station!
