Thats what I thought many time before I sent it kept wondering should I, so did.

Well folks, I think we need to bear in mind what an open forum means, I.e. that anyone, anywhere, in any situation can join in.
There are those of us who have witnessed relatives who suffer from social problems, for instance I have an in-law who is on tne autistic spectrum. Whilst he is very intelligent, and indeed very well known and successful in his career, he lacks everyday social skills. Faced with a comment on his computer he will pull it apart line by line in a weird analysis, resulting in an amzingly distorted view of it. We frequently rephrase things to pacify him and great understanding is needed for him to feel comfortable. Even a chair misplaced can make him nervous and he then appears very rude indeed to anyone unaware of his condition. There is a whole range of things that can affect people and they can be absolutely medical, not intentional.
Obviously I am not saying that anyone on our forum is like this but maybe we need to be aware that we are entirely unaware of our contributor's situations.
Kindness is (nearly) always the right way forward, I think.

Nick I get my share of a similar thing daily Mums in a home with 2 kinds of Alzheimers so they cannot treat each of them with tablets as the tablets clash . Most of the elderly have it in different stages so I can be squealed at shrieked at out of the blue or just needed for comfort off anyone one old dear who is far away yet she always remembers my name and speaks so I put myself out for her . Men seem to clam up its the women that get nasty or violent. I have to dig deep inside myself and ignor it . I dont want that its not fair on your children dad had violent Alzheimers and hit mam only once but he did not know what he was doing . I use TM to shake off the stress mam loads onto me.

Dear all, as a medical man, may I suggest the following:
AQM is a recent amputee, who knows for what reason? Tumour? Diabetes? Arterial embolus? Almost nobody who has been in good health before accepts such a thing without mental anguish. He is Danish, not English. We all remember the wounded officer in Monty Python who lost his leg to a "tiger in africa", contentedly puffing his pipe and asking "will it grow out again?" Patients are seldom found to be that calm and collected. I think out of courtesy to AQM and his grievous loss, why not show a collective sign of "Yes, we understand it hurts", and allow AQM both a little leeway AND the feeling that he is NOT thrown away from our community just because of this thread. With as few disparaging comments as possible? I seriously think this is the proper time for collective KINDNESS, not vindictiveness, sarcasm,anger or boredom. I fully understand why people may react to this thread but I dearly do feel that the feelings shown AQM are very strong and not positive. I would hate to see this thread end in a less than happy note and I am QUITE sure that the noble members of this forum are large enough to realize that some members, sometimes, need an extra hug. Irrespectively if they have behaved impeccably or not.

AQM, You have my deepest sympathy for Your loss. I understand that life may be very unfair. We here are in general good souls. We love our niggly old mistresses with all their faults and weaknesses. We love our Morgans too. And I am sure we can extend a bit of love towards You as well.

I've only just read this thread. Well, a bit of a storm I see.

Getting back to the subject matter, I have very simple tastes. My own interiors must be black, and no quilting. I don't mind coloured piping. On that basis I find the 'before' shot far too bland and pale, and the 'after' shot far too brown and gaudy. But each to his own. I like bright coloured bodywork, I don't particularly like dark or bland colours. That's just how it is.

I've only used 'ignore' once, and removed it recently, but will probably now rethink this. Forums are for relaxation and recreation, not for spats (not sprats).

After reading that come on lads time to forgive and forget let me be the 1st to hold my hand out and I am shure once the other lads read your stuff they will do the same . Stick your hand out as and when you feel ready to . Yesterday is gone and tomorrow has still to come .

Rho8....thank you for that. I've only suffered a very badly broken ankle that needed extensive surgery and I know how I've been over the past few months...and I know my posts on here have certainly changed due to that. That's nowhere close to what AQM must have gone through and I hope we can all take that into account.
