Bonjour à tous,

My car is a 2006 4/4 70th anniversary, hopefully with the repairable Gallay brass rad, currently being rewelded.

When the chassis flexes, the engine and rad don't move in accordance and the hose being very rigid pulls on the rad and makes it leak (or helps to)on top hose connection.
I'd like to find a hose that would "open and close" as an accordion does (can't find a better way yo say in English) so there is no pulling on the rad from the hose and engine.

Does such a hose exist and how to get it ?
The current (original, I should say) hose has 2 different sizes (inside rad side larger than engine side, about 38 mm to 33 mm) and is very thick (6 or 7 mm) and strong.
It is 280 mm long.

If I found one, I could also change the bottom one (19 mm long, same 38 inside diameter) and the 3 silent blocs for softer ones.

It seems "old" Mogs rads never leak, recent up to 2007 or so have repairable rads whereas, on the later ones, the rad top is plastic and you throw it away. Vive le progrès !
Thanks, Jean

Hi, Jean, how about this? You might have to sleeve the 33mm mm end.

Jean,

I used DPH Motorsport (www.derbyperformancehose.co.uk) when I re-hosed my Plus Eight. It is non-standard so standard hoses would not fit.

They specialise in silicone hoses. They are more flexible and better than the black rubber hoses that become rigid with age. I found them really helpful, manufactured in the UK (not India or China) and not expensive. I can recommend them.

For the hoses with different diameter ends, you may need to use a 'step-down' join but DPH sell these.

Jbk,I mailed yesterday autoperformanceonline about the narrower end.
I believe Jack and David talk about the same that I'll get in touch with right now.

Thanks,
Jean

Try Europaspares (google for details & 0n line catalogue) they have all sorts of flexible & concertina type hoses. They will ship to Europe.
