On the plan view I noticed that there's plenty of room for a fish pond. A must have for any TM member I would think.

Looks great and a trip having just (well moved in 6 months ago) a house with a garage is make sure a high amp socket (15A plus) is installed should you ever want a car lift etc. Easy done during build.....

That's why there are two seats in the M3W so she can sit down & rest & reach the beer fridge without Charles having to strain himself. laugh2

I agree with others for working on the car you really need more width. What if you ever decide to go for a 4 wheel Mog? If the tree is limiting width at road end make the other end wider & run the car in forwards. It does not have to be rectangular.

You can always plant another tree??? Don't err on the side of small when building a "Man Cave", after all it won't cost that much more. OH, and the Bar Maid, can't she almost recline on the passenger side? Hmmm, wonder if any one has tried-----

If you may in the future have this as a mini workshop then the mains supply has to be sorted to do it once and min the most cost efective manner. You may never do this so read no further.

Assuming you may be doing man stuff in there it is daft not to get the electics correct from day 1 even it will be a year or two before you install the heavy electical kit.

The only thing that could be a problem is the thickness of the mains supply to the garage and at most you are talking about £35 to overspecify the cable today if it has not been purchased yet.

If you will have a lift, compressor and some heating taking the main load, the lighting has to have a maximium of 3% voltage drop under the 17th edition of the wiring regulations and I have modded my garage electical design to suit an assumed load for the kit most people would like but never get around to buying.

Run a 3 core 10mmsq SWA cable out there to cover anything.

If you can give me the length from the house consumer unit to the garage consumer unit including the verticals as well I can do a better calc but the problem as already advised is the lighting that must not have a greater than 3% voltage drop. The others items can go to 5%.

File for future referance.

Will you be insulating the garage. I extended mine to a very large size and only need 4 to 5kw to heat it on a below 0C day. In your case that may be nearer 1.5kw unless the big window is singled glazed.

You need a garage that is at least big enough to install a Carcoon Veloce. Probably the best M3W extra you can get, apart from a Bomber Girl :-)

Charles mate, you're not telling me you're actually going to start the M3W up in the garage are you - with the new G56 pipes fitted you'll deafen yourself and probably take the roof off! & that's against all H&S precautions smile

Like the idea of a hostess passing you a beer though - I've got one of those!
