Q8 I dont understand your comment you mounted your gauges on the column to make more leg room. Looks to me they are in an ideal position to take your knee caps off. No Speedo or is it track only? Great bonkers gear lever.

The gauges were in the middle,so the passenger had very little leg room(knee rubs againist the gauges housing.
Gauges were temp/oil/volt & speedometer, speedometer wasnt connect(no cable to the trans).
So i decided to change them to something that fitted the look of the car & i wanted more space in the cabin.so i decided to have them on the coloum were they dont bother the driver at all.2 most important gauges are temp & oil.
The shifter was stock.when i changed to 2nd i would elbow the passenger & 3rd i would knuckle him in the knee, 4th i would black eye him.5th i would push him overboard...so i installed a short shifter & this hurst funky shifter stick.

Bought my M3W second hand last December. The standard gear knob recently started to rotate and on inspection I found that it was held on by friction and insulation tape; previous owner obviously kept the upgrade for the new Mog. No Morgan supplier could provide a wooden knob with the correct thread size. MX5parts.co.uk took 24 hours to provide a nicely weighted walnut effect knob that simply screwed on. Looks great and being wood effect it has a surface that will better resist wear.

The MX5 gear knob lasted less than three weeks. The vibration destroyed the composite material from which it was made and it did not have s metal screw insert so it just bounced off!!!!

Here's what I did. Matches the handbrake and generally looks more fitting for the M3W...
