For a number of reasons I wouldn't. If you go wider you'll have to run lower profile tyres, or offset the wheels further out. Don't know about Austria, but it's not permissible to have wheels/tyres protruding beyond the body line (wings) in the UK. Increasing wheel offset puts a lot of extra strain on suspension components. Sidewall flex is a part of the suspension. Plus you'll mess up the handling...  when you get your 4/4

Part of the fun of the 4/4 is the handling- the narrow tyres are a big part of that. Stick with the size- play around with different rubber.

If you do decide to up.the width, and as the guys say, there is no need, you stand a good chance of 195s fouling the wings.

Absolutely right about spoiling the handling but I’m a superficial poser type of Morgan owner myself. I’m not brave enough to eke out the last bit of road holding. I just love the look of the “balloony” 185’s on my 4/4 (I think they may offer a little extra comfort as well).
PS – I think you can only get away with 185’s on post 2005 cars but 195’s would be too big for mine.

Not yet a MOG owner, and have to decide between a +4 from -97 and a 4/4 from -06. Since I have the legs of a ballerina (i.e. to long) I must chose the car with the best/largest internal space.
Have been told that the above cars shares the same width and length in the "cockpit" ??

They both have pretty much internal dimensions, but you may find a difference between the models in the extent to which the seat slides back. Try both and see which you prefer, but if it were me, I think I'd go for the younger car as that will be a long door model and should be easier to get in and out of. The '97 might also be a long door model, I'm not entirely certain when they made the switch.

Welcome to TM. It's probably on the cusp with being a long/short door model. Generally, the the cockpit is the same internally but depending on age there will be differences if you compare an old model with a newer one. Others on here will give you more information on that. You need to drive both as they are different in character and I would suggest you search based around the characteristics of the model you prefer. As they say, the car will choose you!
