Just a few drops after a few days.i remember someone saying when the cover is spaced a bit,it might put pressure on the seals?

also a few drops of oil from time to time for me, since I did the spacer mod on the Cambelt cover all normal

Mine had the washers fitted from new. It also weeps a little oil occasionally. The spacers enable the oil to escape the housing more easily avoiding belt contamination. (As well as their real purpose of cooling the chamber) I've taken the cover off to inspect, belt remains dry.
The oil weep will be there washers or no washers.

I think the oil leak from the crank seal is a common problem. Mine seeps, crankcase breathing issue? I also get oil in my air filter.

I believe that there is a bit of pressure buildup in there. I had traces of oil coming from the valve cover on one side. Every couple of weeks I grab the tools and tighten things back down. Valve covers were not 'loose' but did require tightening and the traces have not returned.

It is supposedly a closed system but with that kind of pressure something will always be trying to find a way out!

All for the sake of the smog laws! Once, many years ago, I owned a 1959 Citroën ID19. It had a crankcase breather exhausting down and out. The California Highway Patrol had one of their impromptu smog inspections and they saw that breather with horror. However, my car was foreign and exempted as it was pre 1960. I drove away smiling leaving little puff puffs of blue smoke behind me...

I added washers to vent the cam cover and noticed a tiny amount of oil seepage after several hundred miles. The first time I removed the cover, a wad of oil soaked chaff fell out and it has been pretty clean every since.

All of the above. I did it only once and it was nerve racking. The blowout was on the front so I switched a good rear tire to the front and left the right rear flat on just in case. It worked but oh my.
