I had an idea to duct air from a Ringa style fan into the foot well but there did not seem to be enough room. It would need some form of flap to shut off in summer or disconnect.

I have "Love Jugs" with a manual switch. When traffic stops, I turn them on, when traffic starts moving, I turn them off. During this trip to and from Northern California from Southern California, we have been caught in several extended traffic delays and not one incidence of skip fire. The other nice part is that it is totally removable as there are no body or cowl mods.

Frankly speaking: the Morgan City cooling kit was low cost so I would not think about fiddling around with my own develpoment. It does the job and that's why I got ot.
(I must confess my Morgan dealer is just 40miles away.)

+1 for me - and even easier as my dealer's only 20 miles away.

The standard shroud is a bit cheap looking so I had them paint mine gloss black which was well worth it.

My previous comment does not contain criticism against any inventon of an alternative cooling system. I always admire good technical solutions, but I am simply too lazy to develop my own kit.

I have had thoughts of fitting an oil cooler under the bonnet and ducting a shrouded fan to the footwells! Any thoughts

Why not pipe the oil under the seats and fit a radiator in the squab so you dont drain the battery as you do when using the electric seats + lights ?

ive seen an oil cooler instead of a front number plate. I would be worried about the risk of it breaking or leaking with disastrous consequences for the engine or my rear wheel's traction. I have also considered a laminova but that is too complicated. Not to mention the weight.

After watching the voltmeter go back up to 13.6 from lower i know that the fan is capable of lowering the engine temp and keeping it there in traffic at idle in British weather.

ducting hot air to the cockpit would be nice. The only large aperture i can think of is the hole above the pedals.

My next project is to duct cool area around the bevel box as mine only makes a noise after sustained load such as motorway or repeated acceleration.

As a non intrusive mod I have fitted one of these push on heat-sinks onto the oil filter, and clamped it with a big jubilee clip so it doesn't fall off. I had to carve a small section off it so it fit the x wedge , nothing serious.

I am currently fiddling with a stick on thermocouple / readout onto the oil tank to do an A / B test to check effective it is , and keep an eye on oil temp in general. I am concerned about oil temp when I rag it.
