More importantly will the soft top be watertight or is that a "wish too far" for a Morgan, even if it costs the best part of £100k. ROFLMAO - even after a Swiss refit of the windscreen mine still bubbles - and will happily drip through the rear of the roof panels. You don't get that sought of engineering with a Porsche!! My neighbour had a Boxster and always used a pressure washer when cleaning it, never a drop of water inside! Water tight hoods can be made , I wonder it will be an "option" ?

They are the only leaks - and I use a pressure washer too to wash the SS

There is no shortage of wet weather in the UK for MMC to test it in!

My options list works out at £20k + VAT. could you list them please? I can, but unfortunately I haven't got the options list with me at the moment (the one I've ticked off on anyway!). But to put you in the picture, just about everything, except the hard top. I do want custom paint which is quite expensive and I am going for one of the packs, but not the one with side exhausts as I intend doing long journeys abroad and don't fancy the headache! I will not be going for the carbon racing seats either as on long journeys....well, will not be too happy! I do hope they sort the roof out. Others have done it and for such a small (but essential) improvement it vastly increases the appeal of the car IMHO.

Well said Rob, and not surprised you've got to £20K plus vat. I do like the sound of the hard-top but will it fit any better than previous hard tops?? The Series 4 Hard Top fits and works well

I'd want the Aero 8 for top down long distance touring but it's inevitable rain will be encountered at some point and I'd prefer it to stay on the outside of the car , not on my knee , elbow etc etc Our aero series 2 is more water tight than our 2013 Geneva Coupe. Go figure that one out. At one point it was so bad it wrecked a £600 suite. Grrrrrr

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

My S3 hood is water tight except for the top of the doors, and a bit round the quarter light junctions. A bit of water comes in and dribbles down onto the sills. In really heavy rain over a long period this is a real pain, but the car is a LOT more water-tight than it was when delivered and adjusted after several goes by the dealer.
It was quite ridiculous at that stage and I was not a happy bunny!
But the experience was very poor and many new owners (this was my first Morgan) would have given up...
I had heard that hard-tops needed a lot of fiddling to get a good fit, but sounds like this can be done.

My S3 was awful when stood in the rain. It was fine whilst moving but if you pulled over in the services, on returning to the car there were pools of water on the sills which had to be mopped up!! The moral of this story.......keep moving!!

Analyising and justifying the cost of the car and options at this level is probably never going to make financial sense and will be hard to justify in terms of value for money. If you can afford to buy this, your not working out how many shifts down at Wetherspoons will be needed to pay for the fancy stiching. I guess it will come down to how badly you want it and if you prepared to pay £90 or £100k for it?
