Thanks everyone for your helpful input. I'm a bit windy of playing with the brakes myself especially as I'm going to Mog15 next week so I've booked the car into a local garage on Monday to have a look at it. They tell me they've looked after several Morgans before.
I'll let you know how I get on, but you'll know that all hasn't gone to plan if I turn up in Llangollen in a Peugeot!

If it's sticking cylinder and have access to parts should be able to sort in few hours, if it go really hot you may need new brake shoes. Hope it works out. By the way they are not hard to do but a pain to refit the shoes and springs. cheers

We'll know wether you're both there or not by just checking the car park!

Was a hot wheel but now cool running! The problem was a seized brake cylinder which has now been replaced. There was some urgency in getting a repair so we can get to Llangollen . Clearly couldn't get down to Allon Whites and a local garage I have used previously was booked until next week. I took a bit of a risk therefore and took it to a local MOT test centre in countesthorpe with whom I've never dealt before and asked if they could help. Well I've fallen on my feet and found a set up which knows a lot about Morgans and looks after several cars from Fox Mog. In fact when I went to the garage I chatted to another Morgan owner also going to Llangollen who was having his wire wheels balanced. Got great friendly and enthusiastic service clearly knowledgeable advice, and encouragement to take part in Foxmog! The best bit is that they are barely a quarter mile from my house.

This is a great local garage which on the basis of my experience I can thoroughly recommend if you need help in this part of Leicestershire, Countesthorpe MOT test centre, Station Road , Countesthorpe LE8.
Now where's Miscellany so I can see when Foxmog meets next!
