I couldn't agree with you more, Paul. I find the current obsession with the 'super rich' and their shallow, empty lifestyles to be pretty offensive.

I could have watched hours of footage of the craftspeople at Jaguar building the cars - we didn't really see anything of the the actual work that was done, and instead we had to put up with endless nonsense about how the 'super rich' are not prepared to tolerate anything short of absolute perfection, almost as if they are like petulant children.

Agreed Paul.

If you have money you have the right to spend it. It is just a little bit annoying when such a work of art is not used and seen so often. Thats why I was sad in my comment.

I cannot bring myself to treat a car as a hanger queen. I took the S2 to Hilversum and back this week, in the rain. It was great.

Hilversum.....that brings back memories a child tuning my fathers old valve radio, Droitwich, just down the road from me and Luxembourg. I can't remember any more!

Excellent point and yours Paul

I don't find the super rich offensive and I don't think I'm particularly envious at all, as my tastes and lifestyle don't require great wealth, but I agree that programme makers obsession with the super wealthy IS becoming offensive and because of it, it's taking away the real interest in what should have been a fascinating programme seeing the crafting of a glorious car

Athlone was also on the dial of our radiogram. There never seemed to be anything interesting on it, though.

Stewart...I think it's very much akin to programme makers (and the press) obsession with so called celebrities as well.
