This just arrived in Alis's email. Generally I don't like slip-on shoes and I don't particularly like the "bone" but if I was a real fashion victim I would probably think the asking price of EUR 550 good value

I think they'd suit you very well Peter, just your laid back style.

Since my knee replacement I have even more need to stretch out my left leg whenever possible, I have removed the brake and clutch pedal rubbers and stuck on some skateboard decking tape, with narrow shoes I can get my size 12's in between the brake and clutch on motorways without affecting the ability to brake with my right foot as the brake goes nowhere near my left foot. However finding narrow shoes has been a problem until I saw a pair of Marks and Spencer's slippers, they had a thin sole on them, are like a pair of Mocassins and very soft and comfortable, I am on my second pair as I tend to be lazy and don't change them when parked up and walk round in them ;-).....oh yes the cost....£12. I am sure these very expensive driving shoes are wonderful but the cost takes them out of my budget. They also look remarkably like the above shoes....well at least from a distance ;-).

Sounds like a god buy, Col. I am fortunate that with size 7 feet I have no problem driving my Mog, even with proper shoes like Church's.

I rather like these: Driving Shoes Light, cool and with an excelent grippy sole that curves up roud the lower heel.

The only problem I have with driving moccasins like those are what do you do when you get where you are going? It seems far too much of a faff to me to take a proper pair of shoes to change into.

That's what I do Tim, to be honest that's what I plan to do, if I am just paying for fuel or nipping in for a coffee I often 'forget' ;-).

Those shoes cost more than all the cars I bought up to about the age of 25yrs. I wear very similar with the sole material extending up the back of the shoe but normally pay about £25 - 30 for them.
