I don't feel at all ripped off with my 2012 Plus 8. I got a bit of derision for choosing an auto too, but am delighted with that. Superb driving experience. Helps to have the secure boot tho. And the Luigi dash.
Exactly. My 2014 Plus 8 represents amazing value when one considers that it is a bespoke, hand built car, not something that has been run down a computer driven automated production line. They are, in the UK, "exclusive" with only 50 or so registered as of the end of 2014. I suspect a few more will be added this year, but there will never be hundreds of them. At Wilton yesterday there were 2 on the MSCC Stand, mine and Robert's. So almost 5% of the UK total!! There were 5 Bugatti Verons... so a Morgan Plus 8 is more exclusive than a Veyron..?

I was thinking about it today looking at the cars at Llangollen and comparing a Plus 8 against the Plus 4.
The blue Stratsone car looks fab - it's the big jump for a similar looking car - the devil is in the detail.

There will be one more Plus 8 joining the merry band of owners. I have put in my order for a new Plus 8, the car is due to be started last week of this month with delivery at the end of July, beginning of August. Can't wait!

Hi Guys,
The colour is Metallic Claret Red with Maroon Mohair hood, hood cover and side screen bag, Stone leather, matching red/maroon embroidered logo on seats, red/maroon piping, black carpets with Stone edging, Auto box with paddles, Aeromax wheels like Peter's, air con, map reading light, etc, even comes with stainless rack and black leather suitcase!
I tried going through the options list from Speedster base car up to plus 8 but found that in going for the full Plus 8 spec I seemed to get almost everything from the options list included so it actually worked out cheaper.
I went for this spec as it was the same colours as our very first Morgan Plus Four. When I sold it in favour of a Roadster 100, my wife nearly cried she loved it so much. So this is for her.
I love auto boxes too, with paddles I have three ways to change gear. We do a lot of touring so having an auto box makes it more relaxing, is fantastic on awkward road junctions especially when in countries like France and, as a bonus, somewhere to rest your left foot!

I (we all) look forward to the photos! Are you going up to the factory to watch the build? I was told of a German customer who stayed there for 2 weeks, going in every day to watch....
Very touched by the "resurection" of the Plus 4 into a Plus 8. Your wife will love it.
As to the price, I agree, buying a Speedster and up specing makes no sense.
Touring: it is what the Plus 8 is made for: the extra room, the general level of comfort and refinement in the cabin all make a big, big differenceover the Roadster.

I did mean to say thank you to you all for the welcome to your merry band of owners!
I am hoping to go to the factory during the build but don't envisage being there for the whole thing! We are going to Shelsley Walsh and Chateau Impney for the hill climbs and staying in Malvern at the Abbey so maybe if they have started by then we could extend our stay and pop in for a look and a few pictures.
My wife suffers back and joint problems and was beginning to find the Roadster a bit of a trial, which led me to buying a 2008 S3 Aero 8 a year ago, mainly for the wider cockpit and "proper suspension". Absolutely loved the Aero and found ourselves not using the R 100 much at all. I sold the Roadster a few months ago and have just put my Aero 8 up for sale with Melvyn Rutter. The funds raised by the sale of both cars will pay for the new Plus 8.
As much as I loved the Aero for it's space and that amazing engine I found myself hankering for a traditional bodied car and the Plus 8 seems to be going to give me the best of both worlds. After taking one for a test drive and looking at a friends, I was hooked.
I have read all of your posts from your purchase of Tarka and all of your subsequent posts about the changes you have made and the general reports on running and owning a Plus 8 with interest and they have helped my decide to finally push the boat out and buy one. So, thanks for that Peter.
